Global Eclipse Gathering just made a huge announcement recently regarding the festivals that they are in collaboration with. When they first announced this gathering in Oregon that will be happening from August 17-23, they had 9 festivals from around the world working with them. Now they just added on two more revered festivals, Hadra Trance Festival in France and Sonic Bloom in Colorado. With me being based in Colorado, Sonic Bloom is my home festival (and the first camping festival I ever attended.) I have traveled across the country for the past couple years experiencing new festivals and events across the nation, but still haven’t found any festival that has the same impact that Sonic Bloom left on me. This festival is not your average camping festival. On top of the amazing music that they hand select, they encourage creativity through workshops and interactive art. Sonic Bloom also highly encourages permaculture, so much so that for 3 days before the festival this year they had a “Sonic Bloom Academy,” where 4 different classes were offered for people to dive in and get extended knowledge on the subject from a certified teacher. The classes were: Permaculture Action, Visionary Arts, Ableton Live, and Movement Art. Going above and beyond the normal festival is what separates Sonic Bloom from the average festival and that is why they are in collaboration with Global Eclipse Gathering. All the festivals coming together for this gathering have at least this in common; hand selected talented musicians, DJ’s, and producers, extraordinary arts, workshops, performers, and a progressive mindset for helping each other learn and grow. Each festival promotes that we respect the earth and each other and because they are all coming together for one gathering in Oregon, I have a pretty solid feeling that Global Eclipse Gathering is going to be the most unique festival that we may ever see in our lifetime. Not only because of all of the festival’s backgrounds in booking talented music and arts, but because each festival is knowledgeable and are pursuing to improve the world and not just to be a party festival.
