A few days ago after not a peep was heard for ages from the folks in charge of the magical wonderland of a music festival known as Electric Forest, a massive camping music festival in Michigan. Then, a sudden tidal wave of news was released! Originally the festival was only one weekend and in the past couple of years they had spread it out to two different weekends. To our surprise and delight they informed the masses that the festival would return to its roots and put all of its energy into creating the most unforgettable and beautiful experience possible, different from any other festival or vibe in the world. From June 27th through June 30th Sherwood Forest welcomes back it’s family, whether you know it or not you’re already a part of it.
If you have ever paid attention to the way Electric Forest markets via social media then you’re already awfully aware of how brilliant they are with announcements. To begin artist announcements they just showed videos of this new Electric Forest calendar, with each month containing a clue to an artist. The community discovered and pounced to find some huge names like Black Tiger Sex Machine, Pigeon’s Playing Ping Pong, Gorgon City, and Ganja White Night. Then out of the blue they tweet a picture asking the community to reply with who they’d like to see perform in the forest, only to begin retweeting a handful of them as well as posting them on their Instagram stories. You might want to buckle up for a few of these ones, 12th Planet, STS9, CharlestheFirst, Caspa, and Seven Lions. Some folks took it a little deeper, diving into the likes of the Electric Forest Twitter account, to discover they had only been liking the tweets containing Zeds Dead, Bassnectar, and Odesza, indicating they don’t want to make it obvious just yet but are teasing all of us with this massive news. All of which just recently got confirmed as Electric Forest just released their 2019 lineup!
