BUKU Music + Art Project 2018 took place on the beautiful weekend of March 9 and 10 in New Orleans, LA. There were few clouds in the sky, and the forecast called for the most perfect weather. The gates opened mid-day on Friday, and it was time for the festivities to begin.

This magical first day of the festival, Friday, featured performances by Ganja White Night, Boogie T., MGMT, Alison Wonderland, Virtual Self and more.

First up was Boogie T. in the Float Den, who played a killer set featuring some original bangers as well as collaborations and mash-ups. He got the crowd up on their feet and moving before Ganja White Night took the stage for their solo set. Then, the Belgian duo and Boogie T. spent the remainder of their time playing a back-to-back set.

Alison Wonderland took the stage by storm to keep the crown hype and keep the vibes flowing. She played an amazing set full of well-known hits as well as tunes from her new album “Awake,” which will be released later this week. It was an incredible set and even better way to start the weekend.

To end the night, MGMT took the main Power Plant stage to serenade the crowd with old favorites as well as some new goodies. Migos closed out the first night of the festival on the main stage after being delayed, and played for about half of their set time, but it was an incredible short-timed experience.

The second day of the festival began with much excitement as people poured into the entrance much earlier than the day before, since the day called for so much talent. Today’s lineup consisted of performances such as Jade Cicada, Noname, Gryffin, REZZ, Bassnectar and more. There was a lot to look forward to on the second day of this madness.

To begin the day, Jade Cicada took the stage in the Float Den. He swooned the crowd with well-known hits and also hit them with some new tunes to create an environment that set the tone for the rest of the festival.

Noname got the crowd ready for the day on the Power Plant stage. She sang beautiful tunes from the heart and brought emotions to new heights. Her performance set the tone for the rest of the day, which included performances from Bassnectar and REZZ.

Lil Uzi Vert was scheduled to play before Bassnectar on the Power Plant stage, but they canceled last-minute before their set, so Gryffin stepped up and played a surprise opening set before Bassnectar. It was an amazing, jam-packed, vibe-filled set that got the crowd hype for what was left to come.

Bassnectar closed the Power Plant stage on Saturday night with a 75 minute set that was full of bangers from start to finish. He played old favorites as well as new goodies, and also some other tracks that just made the crowd go wild. Bassnectar helped bring the crowd to life and made BUKU Music + Art Project 2018 such an incredible experience.
