Backwoods Music Festival Will NOT Be Returning to Tatanka Ranch

It is official. Backwoods Music Festival will NOT be returning to the Tatanka Ranch. With them finishing their 2nd year at that location in Stroud, Oklahoma and from the feedback from the community around the festival and the landowners/workers, Backwoods Music Festival will be looking for a new home for their hopeful 4th year. Check out the proof given to me over Backwoods Family, a Facebook group page.

While the festival has amazing feed back from the attendee’s and artists who played there, the community around Tatanka Ranch feels that the festival would be best in another location.

“This particular festival was not in our or our community’s best interest. It has nothing to do with the people or the music. We maintain a very small staff at the ranch and it was too much for us.” – Manager at Tatanka Ranch.

This music festival had extraordinary creativity through arts with multiples stages throughout the grounds and had a forest dedicated to live painters and art installations. With Backwoods being a mid-west festival and having a large size for the grounds and with the diversity in music through several stages, many people had this festival In the forest Backwoods Music Festivalas their replacement for Wakarusa for the year of 2016. (Wakarusa is another Mid-west festival, multiple stages, tons of art, and long hours of music, only Waka had A LOT of space with tons of followers and been in the same home consistently for 5+ years. Had problems with a company they partnered with in 2015 and had to take the year off in 2016.) Backwoods may now possibly be in the same situation. They will be searching for a new home for the 2017 event and are hopeful they can find a new home. Keep updated on their situation through their Facebook or on my site.
