This Decade (2010-2019) has been absolutely monumental for the evolution of Electronic Dance Music and the scene within it! The sounds over the years have evolved into various forms of genres such as trap, experimental/free-form bass, bass house, riddim, and more. Some artists have never left the ‘OG’ sounds that got EDM to explode, producing genres like, deep house, trance, electro, dubstep, and drum and bass… they just detailed the beat structure to be more in-depth and they kept up with modern trends on sound design for their genre. EDM has been sky-rocketing with popularity among the mainstream music listeners with methods like landing contracts with Netflix, HBO, Disney, all types of Movies, Video Games, etc. and having EDM artists perform at larger festivals/venues alongside pop/rap artists that bring in large audiences of different genre preferences. Some albums that have been produced have propelled the realm of EDM further than anyone could have ever expected. We at The Chronic Electronic, put together a ‘Favorite Albums’ list with multiple honorable mentions and a Chronic Select favorite from each year of this Decade. We hyper linked all albums to music streaming services so you can enjoy some of the beats that have made anthems across the world within our scene and in the mainstream music world. We hope you enjoy our list and check out the music that has rocked our world.
