Splash House June '18 Artist Spotlight: Just A Gent

Known for his classy dress code and his classy beats, Jacob Grant aka Just A Gent will be making waves at this year’s multi-venue fun-in-the-sun festival in Palm Springs, California. Best known for his hit “Limelight (feat. ROZES)” and his remix of “Illenium’s Fortress (feat. Joni Fatora)”, Just A Gent holds the bass to the melodies and tries to make something new every day. Using deep vocals to captivate and strong unique electronics to hold you steady, it is not hard to believe how the young Australian artist has made such a splash in the short time he’s been producing music. He was inspired by Daft Punk and Deadmau5, and has talked about being influenced by Seven Lions, Gramatik, NGHTMRE, Skrillex, and many more! Songs like “404” bring the hard bass forward, while “Space Odyssey (feat. Thandi Phoenix)” will make you want to step back and put on your wing-tipped dancing shoes. All of his skill is continually finely tuned through a wide portfolio of remixes. “Killing In The Name (Just A Tune Flip)” is a song that could be enjoyed just as much as Rage Against The Machine’s original when driving over the speed limit or powering through a one rep max. Hell, maybe even more so with the added blood pumping bass.
