Bad Decisions ‘Too High’ Release Review + Interview from Phoenix Lights Festival

An Australian up and coming duo, Bad Decisions have just put out a jaw-dropping beautiful original, ‘Too High’.  Dropped on the stoners favorite ‘Holidaze’ 4/20 on Tiestos record label Musical Freedom. Not only is it on one of the biggest EDM record labels, but this song also got an official music video release on Spinnin’ Records. Another massive production for some of the dankest music in the scene! This original has the future bass feels but with insane vocal work from Cameron in Bad Decisions. Along with magnificent sound design this song is poppin’ off and is the perfect representative for future bass on Musical Freedom! Check it out for yourself below, Music Video is below the interview!

Bad Decisions recently went to Phoenix Lights Festival, a 2 day festival in the valley of Phoenix with some of the biggest names in the scene. Hosted by Relentless Beats the production made the debut of the new venue, The Park at Wild Horse Casino, specifically designed for Relentless Beats events. Thankfully we were given the opportunity to do an interview with them about their future releases, favorite fruits and experiences, and many more intriguing questions. Read the interview below from the humble and hilarious duo, Bad Decisions.

What is your favorite fruit?

Cameron: “Ahh that is a hard one because I love pinneapple, but I also love watermelon and I also love mangos sooo. There is my top 3…and then there is nothing like a crunchy apple.”

Andrew: “Oranges.”
Cameron: “Yeah Oranges can be refreshing yeah.”

Andrew: “Yeah Definitely”

What made you guys think of your name Bad Decisions?

C: So pretty much when we started. Cuz’ you know we have been friends since high school, and  everyone kinda kept on saying making music was a Bad Decision.. and so we kept [Both Cameron and Andrew] “on making Bad Decisions.” and so yeah we just kinda went against it and that is what spread the name!

Nice! That is one of the more unique ways to think of a name! Way to stick it to them! This leads me to my next point.

How long have you two been friends?

A: What… like 6 years now?

C: We are like what, a year and a half apart
A: Yeah
C: So we met in Highschool he was 14 I was 16. we were just the 2 DJ’s in school and so like we met each other and it all kinda started!

Who are some musicians / producers that are some of y’alls biggest inspirations?

A: I like a lot of NGHTMRE.

C: I personally love Madeon, like I guess our music, we love the melodic stuff but we also love the hard stuff. So it is really kinda a fusion of both! Everyone will hear that in the music that we are releasing in the upcoming weeks, but we also take a lot of inspiration from Post Malone and Travis Scott and like hip-hop! We kinda mesh that with EDM. We have a new release coming out on Spinnin Records on 4/20 – it is very inspired by Post Malone and Travis scott and people like that and mesh it together with a vibe like Madeon, or Illenium. Gotta rep Australia.

Other than your new  release on Spinnin’ Records, do you guys have any other releases?

That one and some other Independent releases, we have tons of new music coming out but we can’t give out the details on that yet.

What is one of your favorite moments from a concert / festival that you attended at?

C: For me, one of my favorite attending festival moments was at StereoSonic, it used to be Australia’s largest festival. And I saw Tchami,  and I remember he was playing like one of his biggest tracks, and one of my homies, he is HUGE, put me up on his shoulders and it was just like one of the most magical moments that I have seen.

That is perfect!

What is y’alls dream festival to play at?

A: I think Coachella

C: Ultra for me

Did you guys happen to attend Defqon?!

Both: We played it!

Oh no way! That is actually on my bucket list!

C: Yeah! We actually played the Bass Stage, it was GREAT! It was about two years ago and it was SOO different from anywhere where we played before. It is one of those you know Hardstyle festivals but everyone loved the bass stage. It was really awesome and a great experience for sure!

I just want to give a shoutout to Bad Decisions, Relentless Beats and Caren West for the opportunity to interview these awesome guys! These Australians are ones to keep an eye out for because they are hitting the scene hard! Keep up to date below!
