Imagine Festival Lineup Analysis Pt. 2

Continuing on our analysis of Imagine Festival’s Lineup and possible suggestions for maximizing your happiness, this will be a breakdown of Sunday’s acts and the various situations where many of us will be understandably conflicted.

sunday conflicts1 herobust moon hooch and spundose

  1. Sunday Conflict 1: Herobust, Moon Hooch, and Spundose
    1. Herobust rises to the stage at 4:55 at the Oceania stage, Moon Hooch at 5:15 at the Amazonia stage, and Spundose at 5 at the Atlantis stage. Moon Hooch and Spundose will both be performing for an hour (so, 6:15 and 6 respectively), while Herobust will be running the sound until 6:10.

sunday conflicts2 12th planet ak1200 pantyraid drumsound and bassline smith benny benassi and delta heavy

  2. Sunday Conflict 2: 12th Planet, AK1200, pantyraid, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Benny Benassi, and Delta Heavy
    1. Basically, Oceania and Aeria from 7 – 11 are stacked so heavy you could produce neutron stars with the weight.

sunday conflicts3 3blau and break science

  3. Sunday Conflict 3: 3LAU and Break Science
    1. 3LAU goes on, after Benny Benassi’s performance, at 10:35 at the Oceania stage (we’re all totally noticing a pattern with Oceania, yeah?), while Break Science goes on at 10:15 at the Amazonia stage. Both will be playing for an hour.
    2. This is likely the second most manageable of the conflicts listed.

sunday conflicts4 thomas jack and bad company uk

  4. Sunday Conflict 4: Thomas Jack and Bad Company UK
    1. Taking to their respective stages at the same time and also ending at the same time, Thomas Jack will be at the Disco Inferno stage, while Bad Company UK will be at Aeria.
    2. This is likely the most easily manageable of the conflicts listed.

      sunday conflicts5 excision and gramatik

  5. Sunday Conflict 5: Excision and Gramatik
    1. Deep breaths here. Lots of deep breaths. Make sure to exhale too.
    2. They both go on at 2 a.m. and go until 3. Excision at Oceania, Gramatik at Amazonia.

Advice, suggestions, and tips

To reiterate the starting tips from the Friday/Saturday analysis: “So, some suggestions to all the family and fellow festees. First, this is going to be an amazing festival, regardless of what shows and acts we miss. Second, make sure to get some solid rest between days. Otherwise, you may very well end up sleeping in and through performances.”

On the individual conflicts:

  • Conflict 1:
    • Suggestion 1: Pick 2 of the 3 (Herobust, Moon Hooch, and Spundose), and then split the time between them.
      • 50/50 and 80/20 are the most common splits
      • Herobust and Moon Hooch have proximity, so this may make it easier to decide
    • Suggestion 2: Pick 1, and then stay there.

  • Conflict 2:
    • Suggestion 1: Ping-pong between the stages, starting with 12th Planet at Oceania.
      • So, the order might look like: 12th Planet, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, and then flipping a coin between Benny Benassi and Delta Heavy
    • Suggestion 2: Do 1.5 split between the two stages.
      • This order would look like: 12th Planet, half of pantyraid, then the second half of Drumsound & Bassline Smith, followed by Delta Heavy
    • Suggestion 3: Have a time machine, go to all of them
    • Suggestion 4: Weight towards Aeria, then dip for Benny Benassi.
      • Essentially, stay at Aeria for AK1200 and Drumsound & Bassline Smith, then mad dash to the sounds of B.B.

  • Conflict 3:
    • Suggestion 1: Split ‘em
      • 50/50 and 80/20 are the most common splits, though who you give the 80 and who gets the 20 is up to you
    • Suggestion 2: Flip a coin and go
      • This can be done two ways.
        • a) Stick with what you end up flipping
        • b) While the coin is flipping, realize which you’d rather be at, then go there and ignore what you flipped
  • Conflict 4:
    • Wash, rinse, repeat the suggestions in Conflict 3
  • Conflict 5:
    • These are the Finale for the festival, so these should be given a bit more consideration (unless of course you’re not conflicted about who you want to see)
    • Suggestion 1: Split ‘em
      • Before deciding how long you’ll stay at which, decide which one you want to be at for the end of the festival, that way you’ve already got a rough idea about how you’ll split the time
    • Suggestion 2: Have a time machine, go to both, and laugh at the mortals bound by the inexorable forward flow of time

Hopefully, any of this helps in even just the tiniest amount. Particularly, I hope it helps you to at least get an idea of how much running between stages we’ll all be doing.

As always, blessings upon You and your travels in this beautiful thing we share called Life.
