Sonic Bloom Completes Their Exquisite Line Up

Our Hand Selected Sonic Bloom Artist Playlist is on the Bottom of the Page, or click this link here!

Sonic Bloom has recently announced their final additions to their exquisite line up. Adding to their diverse lineup is a talented British man named Ott, who fits the vibe of Sonic Bloom impeccably. Additionally to that they are dedicating a tribute set to the late, Pumpkin, with Everyman featuring. Lastly they announced who is going to be apart of their immensely creative and talented orchestra. Each year they have a different and unique Sonic Bloom orchestra come together with the best of the best artists. This year might be their best orchestra yet. Here are the amazing musicians that make up this years Sonic Bloom Orchestra; Michael Travis and Jason Hann (Eoto/Members of The String Cheese Incident), Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic), Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee (Break Science), Jesus Coomes (Lettuce), Aaron Holstein (VibeSquaD), Jamie Janover, Russ Liquid, Dave Watts, Garret Sayers and Joey Porter (The Motet), Dan Schwindt, Lily Fangz, Govinda, CloZee, Vir McCoy, Resunator, and Andrew Block. The amount of talent that will be sharing the main stage at Sonic Bloom is going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD! It seems like each year the musicians that come together for this orchestra only get better and better. They have a wide range of musicians with multiple instruments from saxophone, to keys, guitar, bass, drums, violin, vocals, and more including what ever Jamie Janover calls his creation. (It is a stringed instrument that he plucks at with sticks and it produces some of the most harmonic sounds out of any other instrument I have ever heard.) Having all these different types of instruments will be a sure deal for this orchestra being one of the most unique and exotic sets that you will ever see. You will not see this again! Next year there will be a Sonic Bloom Orchestra, just composed of different musicians, so this year will be the only year you can see those musicians share the stage!

Enter the MazeSonic Bloom also completed their lineup for their Visual Artists/ Performance Artists/ Yoga & Movement / Workshops & Speakers/ Art Installations & Zones / and VJ’s. Just the fact that they have this many categories for art and other activities shows the creative vibe of this festival. They have so much talent booked besides all the musicians. Yet these guys are a huge factor to making Sonic Bloom so exquisite and original. On the main festival grounds, throughout the ground, no matter where you look there is art. On route to both the Sub.misson stage and the Hummingbird stage from Main Stage there is an area in the scrub-oak forest that you can get lost in an art maze. Last year at the Hummingbird Ranch (same location as this year,) they set up the scrub-oak forest to hold the majority of the artists paintings and art installations. In that scrub-oak forest they also placed the more intimate stage, the Hummingbird Stage (which became the silent disco in the after hours). Not only can you spend hours in there gazing upon the countless art and activities, but because it has tree cover, during mid day when the sun is the hottest, yet you still want to listen to music, it is the perfect place to chill!

If you haven’t seen their complete visual & performance artists, art installations, and yoga & workshop instructors, check out who they booked below! The following are some selected artists, workshop instructors, and art installations that I think should be noted.  Starting with one of the world renowned visionary artists, Android Jones. He has performed at Sonic Bloom several times before and this year he is showcasing his talent in live painting, teaching a workshop, providing an art installation named “Night Rainbow,” and of course, producing some of the most visually appealing and revolutionary VJ work in our scene today. His work with mastermind Dave Tipper is some of his most known work, and will be an absolute delight to see live. He is very versatile with his art work and is inspired by android concept on nature such as humans or landscapes/ cities.

Another creative and diverse group of artists is the Apex Collective that is composed of Adam Psybe, Jake Amason, Stephen Kruse, and Zack Johnson. These artist’s all have incredible styles of their own, so this collective will be a must see! On another note, one of the most versatile musicians will be doing either a workshop or will be speaking during the weekend, and that is the founder of Sonic Bloom, Jamie Janover. This creative individual has been putting in an endless amount of effort to make it so Sonic Bloom is the best it can be. He always roams the grounds interacting with the crowd and has been involved in every Sonic Bloom Orchestra. Lastly the art installation, the Sonic Portal, (even though there are a lot of other artists, instructors, performers, and more, to be mentioned there are only so many that I can name. Make sure to check out other artists, performers, workshops, and art installations!) The Sonic Portal is made up from an amazing group of kind hearted people who travel festival to festival providing this workshop. This “Sonic Portal” is made up of gongs placed in a wide circle, wide enough for 4-6 people to sit in the middle of. They have you sit back to back, or shoulder to shoulder that way everybody is connecting with eyes closed. Playing the gongs in the harmonic and clever way, they make the few minutes into a complete spiritual journey. The vibrations caused by the gongs give a full body relaxation and ease of the mind. So when ever their hours are during the festival, huge recommendation to go see them and go on an adventure and escape from the festival grounds for a couple of minutes.

Sonic Bloom Artists & workshops

On top of all of the amazing activities that are going on during the festival, for the first time ever they are presenting a Sonic Bloom Academy that is going on for 3 days prior to the festival. In this academy they have 4 different categories with some of the best of the best of those categories being the instructors for it. Such as Permaculture action series with instructors Ryan Rising, Mike Wird, and Keala Young. This is for helping people recognize their connection with earth and how to properly supply your needs in abundance. Their Visionary Arts class is absolutely superb with instructors and talented artists Martina Hoffman, Randal Roberts and Morgan Mandala. In this class they take you through the world of painting and visual arts. They also have a music production class under, Ableton Live Master series, with certified instructor Isaac Cotec. Lastly, their final class is a Movement Art series with several different types of moves within it. Such as Yoga, Flow, Dance, and Acro Fusion. Sonic Bloom AcademyThey have instructors for each category  being; Gina Caputo, Rainbow Michael, Deb Rubin, and Ryan Hamity & Cassie Drew. Attending these academy arts classes will not only be beneficial to your knowledge, but will give you more time on the ranch. In addition to that, you will get shaded and creek side camping, yoga in the morning, campfires at night, and 2 meals provided to you per day! Not only would it be worth it for the knowledge you will gain but it will be the perfect experience to have before attending a music festival based on all of those amazing qualities.

Sonic Bloom has truly out done themselves for their 11th year, and they are looking at making another memorable year at the Hummingbird Ranch. We are extremely thankful for this beautiful location so make sure any trash you cause and create, you properly dispose of. No matter where you are that should be what you do with your trash, but especially on grounds so special and beautiful, no need to disrespect the grounds. Thank you for reading and if you are looking to buy tickets follow the link on the bottom of the page. As well as their official Facebook page and my Sonic Bloom Artist playlist.
