August is going to close out with a crescendo this year, as this year’s Imagine Festival is showing strong signs of the growth it has experienced through some of the new offerings it is bringing to attendees.
This is Imagine Festival’s first year as a 3 day, 2 night event. To commemorate the accomplishment, and to bring an even stronger sense of the ‘community’ feel which Imagine Festival has consistently sought to make a cornerstone of the experience, camping has been introduced this year! On top of that, Imagine has officially moved to a new location in order to handle the growth of attendees, as the rapid growth made it necessary for Imagine to move from its former home in the Historic Fourth Ward Park. Located on 887 acres and just 15 miles south of the airport, the landmark Atlanta site that will be the home for this year’s Imagine Festival is the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Imagine Festival for all new to hearing of this magical experience is put on by Iris Presents, Inc. The company has been putting on events since the 90’s and remains the most awarded event and promotion company in the Atlanta, Georgia area, which is where the magic of Imagine Festival has taken place, year after year.
Of the 46 artists and performers on the Phase I, I’ve compiled a personal list of the Top 15 Cannot Miss Sets. I expect some level of disagreement, which is expected given the variety of artists on the line-up and the subjective taste each of us has in music. At the same time, what’s to be noted is that I whittled this list down from 22. What is really a clincher is that without a list of time slots, I’m unable to know whether some of these artists will be slotted at the same time. In any case, the following is my list of the Top 15 Cannot Miss Sets for this year’s Imagine Festival (the numbers are just to prove it’s only 15, they aren’t arranged in a particular fashion):
